Happy Friday everyone!
I am extra excited this Friday because we leave on Sunday for the Florida Keys! I will be on vacation all next week, and I’m really looking forward to it. It has been a brutal winter in Boston, and this girl really could use some warm weather. I was looking forward to getting in some long runs while in Florida, but since I am giving the foot a bit of a break from running, I will be looking for other fun, active things to do! When I can’t run, I definitely try and improvise and get my sweat on in other ways. I know most people go on warm weather vacations to relax and do nothing, but I’m not like most people. I can’t just sit on a lounge chair all day sipping a cocktail. While I do hope to rest a little bit, my plan is to go kayaking, biking, swimming (in the ocean and the pool) and drop into a crossfit class in Key West! All in all, I’m just looking forward to the WARM sunshine!
Since it is Friday, I thought I would share some of my favorite things!
Polar Seltzer Water
I consider myself a seltzer water addict! I have never been a soda drinker… honestly never. I love Polar Seltzer, 1. because it’s local to where I live 2. the flavors are so good, you don’t even realize you are drinking water! Since I only drink two things in life, water and red wine, Polar Seltzer water really adds variety to my life!
Eos Lip Balm
This stuff is the balm! (like bomb, get it? :)) eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free (yay!). Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil. I really like the Honeydew and Strawberry flavors… pure genius!
Darn Tough Hiking Socks
These are the only socks I wear hiking. Darn Tough socks are made right in Vermont and they are perfect for year round hiking. Their claim of having the most comfortable, durable and best fitting socks you have ever owned, is no lie… and they have a life time guarantee! But trust me, you won’t want to return these babies.
Years ago I discovered Quinoa, and my life has never been the same! I typically make quinoa over the weekend and add it to my salads at work each day. Quinoa is great hot or cold! You name it, quinoa’s got it. It’s a complete protein that contains all eight essential amino acids, it also is rich in calcium, iron, fiber and potassium, and is an excellent source of folate, magnesium, vitamin B6, thiamin, niacin, potassium, and riboflavin. I honestly can’t say enough about quinoa…
Garlic Zoom Chopper
I love fresh garlic, and I cook with it almost every day! One little tool that has made my life so much easier (and my hands way less stinky) is the Garlic Zoom Chopper! I got this as a stocking stuffer at Christmas last year, and I use it all the time. It saves time and it fun to use… clean up is also really easy. You can roll the garlic wheel just a few times for ‘chopped garlic’ or multiple times for ‘minced garlic.’ You will thank you me later. You can find the Garlic Zoom Chopper here.
Well that’s it for today… a total random list for a Friday! Have a great weekend!
